Day 1: Hanoi – Ninh Binh

Meal provided: No meal

 

Today, meet your personal guide and driver. Travel to Ninh Binh province. On arrival, enjoy a three-hour excursion by small boat along the Ngo Dong River, beginning at the village of Van Lam and proceeding through a scenic landscape dominated by rice fields and karst towers. The route includes floating through Tam Coc - the three natural grottos (Hang Ca, Hang Hai, and Hang Ba), the largest of which is 125m long with its ceiling about 2m high above the water. The boats are typically rowed by one or two local women who also sell embroidered goods. Then visit to Bich Dong pagoda - a cave pagoda - which was built in the 15th century. There are 3 main pagodas here called Chua Ha, Chua Trung and Chua Thuong. We'll start a walking tour across a stone bridge and start hiking up the mountains on the stone steps, passing through the dark cave and we'll find ourselves on top of the mountains with private view of the surroundings.

In the afternoon, drive to visit Hoa Lu temple– The ancient capital of Vietnam in the 10th and 11th centuries. Enjoying the 11th & 17th century architecture style, old sculpture – carving on wood & stone depicting the daily lives, dreams and wishes for peace, good life, etc.

Drop off at your hotel. Stay overnight in Ninh Binh

Day 2: Ninh Binh – Pu Luong

Take light trekking down valley for visiting village for enjoy scenery of rice terrace as view of SaPa Vietnam. Keeping take nice and short walk-through small paths shrouded in vegetation to slowly reveal a picturesque village sitting at the base of a towering mountain. Your camera will not be able to sit still! Continuing to the base of the valley, you weave between roads and farmland, villages and wild fields, ponds and rivers, mountains and open land.

You will be transferred to a suspension bridge over the Cham River, where you begin your walk in search of stunning water wheels. Get up close to each wheel and discover how water is moved from river to handmade bamboo aqueducts via simple constructions of all sizes.

Arriving at a local fisherman’s house, you have a short rest to gear up for the bamboo river rafting with Dinh and his team. Float along the calm river and enjoy the views, in between learning how to paddle and steer your handcrafted rafts.

Stay overnight in Pu Luong

Day 3: Pu Luong / 4,5 km easy walk – 2 hours – Hanoi

Meal provided: Breakfast

 

You have the chance to get close to village life and interact with locals living in the hills above the Retreat. Glimpse at daily life, walk around working farmland and rice fields, and learn about making weaving colourful textiles, followed by lunch at the Lodge (on your own account).

Enjoy your leisure and check out.

Heading back to Hanoi. Drop off at your hotel.
